Yuzhny Shopping Centre, Kazan: Retail Capital Markets Advice and Leasing

In 2006 and 2007, the investment subdivision of one of the largest European banks considered an opportunity of acquiring commercial property in Russia, in particular, operating SC Yuzhny in Kazan.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets team in Moscow advised on both planned acquisitions, while the Strategic Consulting team produced a market feasibility study of the projects and revised their profitable section. Thus, the Client could estimate their potential market value and connected risks.

Our Retail Consulting team advised the Client to reposition the shopping centre in Kazan by providing a new tenant mix because of the changed competitive environment.  The Consulting team made assumptions on operation improvement and on concept development for the second phase of the project, which will substantially increase its competitive advantages.

The Retail Agency at Jones Lang LaSalle, as an exclusive marketing agent, managed to attract strong international tenants and participated in negotiations with western investors.
